By the title I mean city born-brought ups and small town girls who migrate to a metropolitan city.
I have observed that city girls do look down upon the small townies. They have a bunch of reasons for it. So I thought I would probe the matter.
City girls | Small town girls |
Bold outlook | Simple outlook |
Regular at beauty parlours | Beauty parlours are just eyebrow studios |
Super-comfortable in the presence of male coworkers or students | Trying to get comfortable with male companionship |
Carry skinny, tight outfits with ease | Comfortable, probably old-fashioned dress-sense |
Carry a bag full of cosmetics | Carry just water bottles |
Strong language skills | Strong subject matter |
Treat mongers |
Feeling self conscious in an office
treat
|
Making funny faces in selfies | Keep-calm-and-click kind of selfies |
The harsh truth is, these small townies are transforming slowly into the city type, some with their own consent, others unthinkingly. I see massive make overs, total wardrobe change etc. This may be quite agreeable but not so healthy for a society which tries to balance the two types. This may stop when our small townies begin to think,
- Being fashionable alone is not beauty. There is more to it.
- Being articulate alone is not being intelligent.
- Male companionship alone is not being social.
Having said all that, I like the small town girls who do not get intrigued by the city brought-ups, and who own up to what they are. Have you noticed, only small townies try and change, but the city ones never try to pose as a villager, for that is not progress, they say.
Disclaimer: Well my post may be biased, and actually is completely subjective, a generalization of the case. But whatever...
I agree with your opinion in this case. Oor kaara ponnus are my first choice. The same reason is why we are together now. May be Oor kara paiyan is your choice too.

ReplyDeleteI'm sure why you made it singular.
